ALUMNI AWARD WINNERS
Chris Sullivan
Chris Sullivan ('91) was born on March 14, 1973, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and grew up in North Attleboro, where the values of structure, accountability, and community pride shaped his early years. A graduate of North
Attleboro High School, Chris fondly recalls Friday nights at Community Field, where playing football before a town united in support left a lasting impression. That sense of belonging and responsibility would remain central
throughout his life.Community Impact Award 2026 Following high school, Chris attended Boston College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. His dedication and work ethic carried him to the highest level of athletics when he was drafted into the National Football League. Chris played professionally with the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers from 1996 to 2002, including time on two Super Bowl teams. Representing his hometown as a local athlete on a national stage was a source of immense pride, and he credits the unwavering support of the North Attleboro community for helping him reach that milestone. After his football career, Chris transitioned into business ownership before ultimately finding his true calling in service and advocacy. Since 2010, he has traveled across the country as a national awareness speaker, sharing his lived experience with substance use disorder, recovery, and mental health. His message is rooted in honesty, connection, and hope. Chris speaks openly about his own six-year struggle and the compassion he received from the North Attleboro community. He found support in the community that never wavered and never carried judgment. That experience continues to shape both his recovery and his mission. A cornerstone of Chris's community work is the Sullivan's Message Resource Community Center, located on Park Street in North Attleboro. Created with his wife, Kathi, the center serves as a safe, welcoming space for recovery meetings, grief support, and meaningful connection. It reflects Chris's belief in meeting people where they are and fostering healing through understanding and shared humanity. Chris remains deeply grateful to the teachers, coaches, and mentors who influenced him, including Ray Beaupre and Paul Sullivan, and his father. Their lessons in accountability, teamwork, and character continue to guide his life. Chris and Kathi are proud parents and grandparents, and he treasures time spent with family, staying active, and giving back. Receiving the Community Impact Award represents a full-circle moment. It honors the town that shaped him and reaffirms his commitment to serve others with compassion, humility, and purpose. |
