ALUMNI AWARD WINNERS
Lenore Paquin
Lenore Paquin's life was defined by service, humility, and an unwavering devotion to the community she loved. A lifelong resident of North Attleboro and a proud descendant of generations of the Quinn family, Lenore was woven
into the very fabric of the town. Her commitment to caring for others — quietly, selflessly, and without expectation of recognition — left an enduring impact that continues to be felt today.Honorary Alumni Award 2026 Lenore graduated from Dominican Academy Catholic High School in Plainville before pursuing her calling in nursing, a profession she dreamed of from childhood. She ultimately found her true purpose as North Attleboro's Public Health Nurse, a role that allowed her to serve both her community and her family with equal devotion. Though hospital nursing was her original path, Lenore chose public health so she could be present for her children while continuing to give back — a decision that reflected her values and priorities. One of the most meaningful aspects of Lenore's work was her role in conducting "new mother" visits. At a time when such outreach was uncommon, she provided guidance, reassurance, and compassion to countless families during some of their most vulnerable moments. She was also instrumental in the creation of Lenore's Pantry nearly 50 years ago — long before food pantries were widely recognized — offering vital support to single mothers and families in need. Her work extended beyond clinical care; she was a confidant, advocate, and source of comfort to all who crossed her path. Lenore also served as the school nurse at St. Mary's School, where generations of students remember her as far more than a nurse. She was a safe haven — someone who listened, reassured, and treated every child with dignity and kindness. Her influence reached far beyond North Attleboro, as illustrated by countless stories of compassion that followed her wherever she went. Service ran deep in Lenore's family. She was named after her father, Leonard James Quinn, one of the most elected Selectmen in North Attleboro's history and a longtime Fire Commissioner. Inspired by her parents' example, Lenore carried that legacy forward with grace and humility. At home, Lenore was devoted to her family, raising her children with love and presence, never allowing her work to overshadow her role as a mother. She believed deeply in kindness, service, and giving back — values she lived every day. Being recognized posthumously by the NAHS Alumni Association honors a woman who never sought accolades, yet gave her all to her town. Lenore Paquin's legacy is one of quiet heroism — an ordinary woman whose extraordinary compassion continues to inspire a community she held close to her heart. |
