Alumni Association
Summer 2013 Newsletter

Association News

Greetings Friends and Fellow Alumni,

I hope you are enjoying your summer and getting some quality time with your friends and family. On behalf of the Alumni Association, we wanted to send a summertime newsletter that informs all of the NAHS Alumni what the association has done throughout the year. We also wanted to inform you of upcoming activities that we are sponsoring to give everyone a chance to get involved.

In March, we kicked off the Capital contribution campaign. Inserts were placed in the Free Press and donation letters were distributed throughout North Attleboro requesting donations. Our fundraiser was a huge success and it would not have been possible without the donations from 31 individuals which enabled us to raise approximately $2,000. A quality education like the one our students deserve, and that North Attleboro teachers are dedicated to deliver, requires considerable resources. That's why the donations to the North Attleboro High School Alumni Association are so important.

In June, we were able to partner with the North Attleboro Public Schools Technology Department and donate twelve laptops to the North Attleboro High School Media Center. An anonymous donor provided the laptops and we provided the funding for the software licenses in order to enable the high school students to use them. These 12 laptops add to the 12 Netbook laptops and 22 desktop computers that we have donated in the past already. See us in the Sun Chronicle by clicking here.

We recently held our annual elections and I, Thomas Pirri, was nominated to serve as the President for a second term. In addition, I am joined on the Board by Keith Lapointe, Vice President, Sean Fisher, Treasurer; Katie Bloom (Feid), Secretary; Amanda Dean, Class Agent and Fundraising Chairwoman, and with Keith's continued Board service, Mitch MacDonald continues to serve as our Past President. Jack Johnson, Timmy Stuart and Danny Rayburg are also active members of the association and their participation and support are crucial to our success.

As part of our upcoming Fundraising campaign, we will be sponsoring our third annual Patriots Raffle. We will be raffling two tickets to a Patriots home game and will only be selling 200 raffle tickets. Over the course of the past two years, this fundraiser has seen tremendous success while providing a lucky raffle ticket winner an opportunity to enjoy a Patriots game. We'll be providing more information about how to purchase Raffle tickets shortly.

Towards the end of the year, we plan to hold our 6th Evening of Recognition cocktail night at the Highland Country Club. This is an opportunity to recognize honorable alumni for their personal achievements in their professions or in our community. Be on the lookout for date and time and plan to attend with friends.

Included in the eNewsletter are many updates from recent activities at the High School in Academics and Athletics. Also, be sure to see what's going on in the lives of your classmates in Alumni News and Announcements.

I hope you enjoy this latest edition of the newsletter. We continue to try to spread the word about our mission and the deep needs we are trying to fill at the High School. Please forward this newsletter and be sure to check out our Facebook page.

All the best,

Thomas Pirri '02
NAHS Alumni Association President
