North Attleboro High School
Alumni Association
Spring 2013 Newsletter

Association News

Friends and Fellow Alumni,

I hope this edition of our eNewsletter finds you doing well and I'm sure many are looking forward to the summer. As the calendar turns to spring, the Alumni Association is proud to report that we have made a donation to purchase Windows 7 and MicroSoft Office licenses to enable the 12 laptops that have been generously donated to the High School to be put into circulation. In addition, we have partnered with current student leaders at the High School for a fundraising event for students and alumni to interact in a fun and welcoming environment.

The North Attleboro High School has experienced a number of success stories over the past 2 years. Advanced Placement (AP) enrollment, AP exams administered as well qualifying AP scores by our students have increased tremendously leading NAHS to the prestigious distinction of being the ONLY school in the state of Massachusetts to be selected to the AP District Honor Roll as well as the AP Stem Access Program. In addition, NAHS is the recipient of a $6M grant for the renovation of the science labs. The project is expected to be completed in September 2013 and will include 12 state-of-the-art science labs.

While the High School has much to be proud of, the current state of technology has not kept up with the unprecedented growth over the past five years. The NAHS Alumni Association provides immediate support for one of the school's most important priorities - technology - because we realize that technology is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.

In March, we officially kicked off the Capital contribution campaign. Inserts were placed in the Free Press and donation letters were distributed throughout North Attleboro requesting donations. The current ratio of students to computers is 7-to-1 and there are only 25 laptops in the entire school. We are striving for a 1-to-1 ratio and are confident this campaign can improve that ratio.

You can click here to download the donation form. All completed forms may be sent to: North Attleboro High School Alumni Association / P.O. Box 1051, North Attleboro, MA 02761.

Included in the eNewsletter are many updates from recent activities at the High School in Arts, Academics, and Athletics. Also, be sure to see what's going on in the lives of your classmates in Alumni News and Announcements.

I hope you enjoy this first edition in 2013 of the newsletter. We continue to try to spread the word about our mission and the deep needs we are trying to fill at the High School. Please forward this newsletter and be sure to check out our Facebook page.

Regards,

Thomas Pirri '02
NAHS Alumni Association President
